Stock monitoring :-
The stock database of Psales-Server is populated,
via a data extract from the users back office system in one of two ways:
1). At an exhibition. Orders are taken on the Psions
throughout the day and, at any lull in proceedings,
a unit may be docked and its orders downloaded. The down load will maintain an available
stock figure within the database by reducing the starting stock by orders taken.
It will also maintain an update file, for each Psion, with the available stock for all
items that have changed since the last upload to this unit. The idea behind this being
to minimise the size/time of stock update back to the Psion.
When the download is complete the user will be asked if he wants to update stock in the Psion

i.e. only send items whose stock has changed.
Exhibition Communications :-
Instead of connecting each individual Psion
to a modem to download to the back office system these will be docked to the PC at the exhibition
and the Psales-Server system will send the orders via a single connection.
