Pstock-picker is a barcode based stock picking system for the
Psion Workabout
handheld terminal with in-built barcode reader.
It works in conjunction with your back office SOP (Sales Order Processing) system.
Instead of working from printed pick lists, these are exported to the Pstock-picker system,
via a standard interface, and the picker works from screen prompts on the handheld unit.
Pick lists can be loaded individually or in batches e.g. next 5 lists etc.
The picker is shown the customer and destination details and is then prompted to 'pick'
each item in turn and confirm or change the picked quantity.
Data may be entered via barcode or keyboard e.g. if a barcode is damaged or missing the
code is entered or found using the item search facility.
The user can configure the picking sequence as either:-
Location
Item number
Walkround sequence (if this is different to location sequence)
On completion of the pick list the user can optionally print a despatch note with
details of items being sent and any discrepancies between ordered and picked quantities
being highlighted.
The confirmation of pick (and discrepancies) may be also optionally downloaded from
the handheld to the back office SOP
system via a standard interface.
