Pstock-checker is a barcode based stock taking system for the
Psion Workabout
handheld terminal with in-built barcode reader.
The system will cope with multiple Units of Measure (UoMs) per item and has
a standard download function that enables the main stock control system to be updated
with count quantities.
The user may optionally upload
stock file information from the main stock control system including cross references between
various barcodes that may be available e.g. item barcode, EAN barcode (from sales packaging)
and outer barcode (along with carton quantity).
The data upload facility enables item description to be displayed for confirmation of
identity and enables any of the available barcodes to be read and converted to the appropriate
item stock code and quantity.
The system allows the relevant data fields and their prompting sequence to be
configured from the following options:-
Item Number
Outer Count
Carton Quantity
Item Quantity(may be calculated from above)
Input/Amend Orders.
Stock Location - Aisle - Rack - Bin
Stock Checker(entered at start of job only)
Count Date(taken from Handheld)
On completion of counting the Pstock-checker may be connected to the main computer and the
relevant 'count' records are downloaded for subsequent updating of the main stock control system.
Optionally the Pstock-checker may produce a print out of the 'count' records.
